Not as good as the first, but still good
I saw this two weeks before it came out, but couldn't review it until it came out. Once it came out, I got lazy.

I think the opening scenes are pretty bad. If you read the books, then you know how deeply in love they are. But, if you're watching the movie, it looks like a couple of teenagers talking about disposable teen love. They don't make the sale.

Once Edward leaves, the movie becomes very good. I've heard a lot of complaints about it from many people, including the mother of my children, but I don't see it. It could be because I haven't read the book 12 times and I don't know it word for word. Maybe that makes me biased. I remember the gist of the book, and I think the movie was inline with it. I liked the music, the cinematography, the action and the special effects. My friend Rafael absolutely hated it; I don't know what the disconnect is.

The scenes with VICTORIA are excellent. She's a great female bad guy, the likes of which I have not seen since THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE. However, Victoria had much less screen time than TILDA SWINTON.

I did recognize some minor discrepancies with the book. I suppose someone who read it 12 times could identify a bunch more. But as I always say, you can't judge one media's representation of the material against another. A movie is a completely different thing than a book. They have to do things different. If they have to slap around the story for that, I'm ok with it. (If I wasn't offended by transfomers, then hardly nothing will offend me. I may soon become a hippocrite, though... I have deep deep concerns about THE KUNG FU KID)

I liked it. So there.

From the humanity front, I think this movie reveals to us a great shortage of shirts in Washington State. Those young men need our help. Everyone should be able to wear a shirt, werewolf or not. (Actually, for the record, they're not werewolves. Don't try to get me on the technicality)
