The ULTIMATE CUT is every bit as good as the original plus some. As far as I can remember, it's mostly the same movie with the DARK FREIGHTER side story now embedded. That cartoon itself, while a tad disgusting, is great. Some of the transitions into it are triggered by the kid at the news stand. Others just get dropped in.
I find WATCHMEN to be totally engrossing. There's so much to it. All of the characters are great. See my original review for more details.
