Not Disappointed. Quite the opposite.
I gave the original IRON MAN a 4. If I wasn't so lazy, I would go change it to a 5. I'm not a comic book guy. I don't always appreciate things immediately. IRON MAN, like any movie, has some flaws, but it's extremely enjoyable and has very-high rewatch value. I just didn't fully appreciate it on the first viewing.

IRON MAN 2 is excellent. I know a lot of people didn't like it as much as the first. I don't know if they don't know the reason for that... are they looking it as a movie, or as the comic book? Did it violate some comic book legacy that resulted in negative feedback, or do they just not think it's a great movie regardless?

I really liked Spider-Man 3. It's my favorite of the series. I know I'm the minority there; usually when I see something about Spider-Man 3, it's negative. While I agree the basic elements of it have been done a million times before, I think they did it very well. I love how they wrapped everything up just in time for the reboot.

Iron Man 2 feels like Spider Man 3 to me. Friends fight then resolve their differences for the ultimate show down. It's not too convoluted; there's only one bad guy and his benefactor. And, the bad guy is well done.

The one obvious thing that Iron Man 2 lost, for the most part, was the charisma. In the first one, Tony was a funny charismatic guy. In the second one he's saying "look how funny and charismatic I am", but really he was just loud and obnoxious.

The scene in the donut shop with Nick Fury felt a little off somehow. I can't put my finger on it, but it didn't feel right.

At the very end, when they finally get to fighting the bad guy, I was almost getting sick of it; it was time to end. Fortunately, they kept the final confrontation quick.

I really enjoyed Iron Man 2. I think it's an honor to its predecessor.
