Edward Norton not playing HULK in the AVENGERS movie

This isn't breaking news. I'm sure you've read it. I only comment on it due to my own experience with THE INCREDIBLE HULK. I really liked the movie. But, as I watched the bonus materials, all I could think was what a handful Ed Norton seemed to be. He was so obnoxious in the bonus materials that I can't imagine what he was like during the making. The director must've gone out of his mind. That impression seems to now have some credibility.

Brittany Murphy Is Dead

My first reaction was that it was most likely drug related, but what do I know? I saw other speculation that it could've been due to years of eating disorders, but what do they know? Regardless, it sucks when people die. I sincerely hope it wasn't due to any self abuse; that would make it more of a waste because it could've been prevented. I wrote this about her 2 months ago: Review of a Brittany Murphy Movie 2 months later, its suddenly in bad taste, but I had no way of knowing that at the time. For personal reasons, I'm glad she wasn't killed by an earthquake in real life. That'd be too weird.

Bryce Howard cast as VICTORIA in Twilight Eclipse?!

First of all, I don't care about Twilight too much. I look forward to the movies, but not in any major way. I enjoyed the first two. Nor do I have any particular interest or disinterest in Bryce Howard. She seems like a lovely actress. I like what she has done to date. If Bryce was cast as Victoria for all the movies, then I'm sure she'd be great. The thing that's funny about this recast is that in my review of NEW MOON, I commented on how great whats-her-face is in the role. I thought she was really great for all 9 seconds she was on screen. Am I the minority? Anyway, I think this happened back in July but I just noticed it. According to the article I saw, the press release stated it was due to a scheduling conflict. But, the old Victoria was stunned by the news. Those don't mesh well together. My preference would be to keep the current actress. Let her keep being awesome. Bryce has plenty of other things to do.

Where are the Wachowski Brothers?

I keep checking IMDB to see what the Wachowski brothers are going to do next. There's nothing there. Its been almost a year since Speed Racer... I thought they'd have something else in the pipeline by now.

Another Oh-oh - The Karate Kid remake

Today I saw that JACKIE CHAN is going to play Mr. Miyagi. Doh! I have a really bad feeling about this. Jackie Chan is great, but he's a comedic actor. Mr. Miyagi shouldn't be a comedic role. Jaden Smith is the new Karate Kid. He's only 11 years old, though. Unless they add 5 camera years, he's too young. I have a bad feeling about this. If it turns out to be horrible, at least we still have the original classic to embrace for all eternity.

I just went to Blockbuster.com and confirmed that JCVD is a blockbuster exclusive. Darn.

JCVD - Where art thou?

A couple days ago, my friend Bryan and I were talking about movies. I mentioned JCVD which I've really been looking forward to. He went to Blockbuster and got it. I thought "great, it's out!", so I went to Netflix. They don't have it yet. Apparently its not released yet. So, either Blockbuster got a deal, or Bryan got the wrong movie. I took a look on amazon. They have the trailer (click the title link). I'm excited about this movie.

S. Darko - Sequel to Donnie Darko coming out in April

I love Donnie Darko. I was blown away the first time I saw it. Its one of those rare movies where the theatrical release was better than the director's cut. The director's cut practically tells you what's going on. I preferred being confused by it. Now they're doing a sequel starring Donnie's sister. Its a new actress and a new director. Will lightning strike twice? S. Darko

Boondock Saints 2???

This Troy Duffy fella made a movie 10 years ago called "The Boondock Saints". He hasn't done squat since. And I don't mean that he's just done little negligible things... he's really done nothing. Now, 10 years have passed, and he decided that its time for a sequel to his one-no hit-wonder. I was introduced to the first movie probably about a year ago, and had a real blast with it. Recently i read up on it and learned that it was not critically well received. I wonder why. Its a funny action movie. That reminded me of a crappy sci-fi movie that I really liked a lot, starring Sean Patrick Flannery. It was fun for completely different reasons. I encourage you to put on your B MOVIE hat and check it out. Insatiable

Too bad about Eli Stone

I wasn't happy about Journeyman being cancelled. It was a really good show with better production values than we often see, but no big deal. Jericho, too. After all the hub-bub to bring it back, it was a shame to see it end after 8 episodes. But again, no big deal. Eli Stone is different. Eli Stone is an inspiration feel-good show. It doesn't rely on violence or a lot of sexual innuendos. It about a guy and a law firm trying to be good to people. Its unique. Its a shame its not more popular. I will be very sorry to see Eli Stone drop off the line up. Not every episode is a home run, but enough of them are to make it a very worthy show.
